Sheep Barn, Lyme

This was the first barn that we hand cut. It is a shelter for both sheep and farm supplies. Being our first hand cut structure we took it to the extreme. All lumber for this barn was sourced from within a 10 mile radius. The oak pegs were all hand made using a freshly cut white oak tree. They were then hand worked into shape using traditional tools. The siding and roofers were also locally sourced. The roof was the only thing that came from far away. Even the hinges are salvaged from Connecticut. This is where our love for timber framing started.
